Every time you walk into a new office space you have this nervous feeling boiling inside and you may have a million questions running through your mind at the same time. During most interview processes I have experienced the managers have all told me what to expect the first day and most of the time it is not always what they will tell you. That is why you should always research the company you may work for. What should I know about the Office Policies? This question burns through my mind all of the time. Since every place is different most policies are the same but different at the same time so i think you should tread very lightly. You may not want to step on anyone’s toes by embarrassing yourself as well as someone else. I know you may have a busy schedule in your everyday life so it never hurts to ask if they have flexible availability so you can always be there when need be with no hesitations. Now if they are strictly going by the nine to five clocks then you may have to plan your day accordingly. Everyone gets “So, Do you have any questions for me” at the end of e very interview. Make sure you ask any question that may be on your mind for the simple fact it could get you and amazing answer that could help you in your everyday life and well as your business life.
At any job you may go there may be two individuals who are in a relationship. That is the type of relationship you may not want and most jobs may not allow anyways. Now on today’s blog I am going to tell you the type of relationship you may want. One of the Tops rules in the business world is never date anyone you work with always keeps it on a professional level never more. Let that relationship be a partnership for the company you may never know where that could lead. Remember to always stay connected up on the information in the business world. Never compete with you fellow coworkers since the corporate world is so competitive at all time. It is always best to work hard and build you some connections along the way. Just like any other relationship always is supportive of those around you I was always told support those who support you. If you are supportive then your business relationship will go far. Last but not least motivating each other, there may come a time where you may need to be motivated and you may not know how. With your business partner by your side there is no one more perfect to push you to be were you need to be as a team.
Every time you have an interview your most likely to never hear the hiring manager tell you how much you will be getting paid. I know most of the jobs I’ve had they have never told me I always found out when I received my first pay check. When they ask do you have any questions for me then that is when you should take the advantage and ask the question regarding you salary. However; when you go into the professional business world and they don’t tell you what you salary may be then here are some ways of going about asking. No matter what the job may be always research the company and how much an employee in this field gets paid. Never shortchange yourself meaning never settle for less. Now if they ask you in the early phases of the interview then your will know what they are offering. Also take other offers into account when considering your salary. Remember once you finish your first 90 days your salary could change depending on your experience and how you handle yourself.
Many people in today’s society know all about social networks. Whether, it’s on your phone or you just sitting at home on you on desk top or laptop. However when it comes to the professional networking there are several sites you can create a profile. Which tells a little about yourself and your work history? One place that I do like to use is Linked In. I have had an account a little over 6 months at first I never knew what a Linked In account was until one of my fellow classmates told me what it was. So I decided to create me and account. Now Linked In is social website where different employers and company owners can look for people who they feel have the skills to work for their particular company. This is a great way to meet new people. You never know who you may meet on this site. Most companies are willing to work with new up and coming people in the business world as long as you put forth the effort and show that you are willing to learn and grow. Then why would they want to day no. So get out their and be social.
I feel thank you notes are a good idea to send to your interviewer. Thank you notes let them know you appreciate them taking time out of their day to see if your what their company is looking for. If I knew anything about Thank You Notes I would have been sending them out. I have had some amazing jobs since my very first job in the employment world. I think Thank you notes are a great way to follow up with the company if you do not get the news right away that they want to hire you. Thank you notes can bring you back into that interviewer mind. I never knew what Thank You Notes where until a week ago in my Career Explorations Class. These notes should consist of your contact information, interest in the position for which you applied, and just let them know you appreciate their time. A simple task that can be completed anytime you have a big time interview and you feel it went well. So Never Think Thank You Notes are not around I feel they will be around for years to come.
During an interview the hiring manager will ask you all kinds of questions that may not pertain to the actual job. It is your decision to answer them or not. The most common questions they always ask are “Why do you want to work for this company.” The most proper way of answering the questions is to be honest never say “Because you all were hiring.” After saying that there is definitely no reasons to think you have the job. If given a scenario would you be able to think on your feet. I know for a fact they will throw a random situation that could possibly or has already happened just to see how you would handle yourself. Whether it be a professional manner or act the way the customer/ client is acting. Most company ask “what do you do in your spare time” only to see how you conduct yourself in public. If your company was to go on a group outing you should always conduct yourself with class. Now that you know how to act when asked questions during an interview. There is one last piece of advice that i would like to give. Never think so much into these interview question just show a little piece of your personality and always remain professional.
Step1: Always get information regarding a position that may or may not be available. Never Ask for the job. Many people fail in the field of job searching simply because they are asking their family and or friends to get them a job. Employers are not going to know who to hire if you don’t show your face. Step2: Set up a LINKED IN account to meet new professional business people who are always looking for a hard working person this could be your professional electronic profile. As long as you do not post anything that could possibly hurt your chances. Step 3: Always be prepared with what you want to say. If you have to come up with a speech that you could practice in the mirror before you actually speak with someone. Step 4: Realize everything may not come the day of. Know you are going to have a couple of rough days employers may not respond to your email right way or call you back the same day. Just be patient and everything will work out in its own time. Last but not least Step5: If you’re out networking make sure if someone refers you to another business professional keep in touch and maybe just maybe they will help you in the long haul. So don’t ever think that your hard work will go unrecognized.
Many people may not know that tattoos can hurt you in the professional world. Visible tattoos should be covered up and shouldn’t be seen. If you’re looking for a job and you have visible tattoos you can use tattoo cover up or make up you don’t have any cover up. I know many places may not mind you having tattoos as long as they are covered up. People do judge you on your appearance and big, bold, and inappropriate tattoos will harm your job opportunity. Now, on the other hand if you have a tattoo and it is not visible you have a greater chance of getting the job. Simply because you have the appropriate attire as well as the drive to perform the job. Another thing is if you have them and they ask you if do you have a tattoo tell them no. Even if they don’t-DO NOT TELL.
Many people may not know that your attitude affects every aspect of your life. Whether, it may be your professional life or your everyday life. Your attitude can make people react to you in a negative manner if you give off that “I DON’T CARE” kind of attitude. Because I know that “A bad attitude is like a flat tire. If you don’t change it you will never go anywhere.” Having a positive attitude in the real world will help you get far in a company. You could possibly get a raise, or maybe even the famous corner office with the amazing view. Even business meetings around the world. You may never know where a positive attitude can take you until you try.
Fears and Excitements go hand in hand. One minute you could be afraid but if you change your perspective just a tad bit into something exciting. Many people fear blogging simply because they feel it takes people into their personal lives. The only way people will be in your personal life is of you post you personal business. Which is not the case? Blogging is just and online journal were you post your views on a situation or something that interests you. My personal fears are people not being interested in what I have to say. Or one day I may not have anything to say. I view Blogging like a roller coaster it has ups and downs. But it’s your choice to scream or enjoy the ride. And I choose to enjoy the ride. I hope everyone else enjoys it as well.
